Tracking Club
Since K9 Leadership began teaching tracking classes, we have noticed a growing need for a tracking club. This need stems from the increased awareness of tracking and the fun that can be had by both dog and handler.
You all know what an advocate K9 Leadership is of tracking. This exercise offers both mental and physical exercise for your dog. (It also offers a great deal of mental exercise to the handler while trying to remember where the heck the track is!).
The goal of the tracking club is to encourage continued tracking exercises with our dogs after ( or during ) the classes because it really is a unique and fun experience for both dog and handler.
Once you have participated in a tracking class with K9 Leadership you can immediately participate in the tracking club. All dogs of every tracking level and ability can come out. Your dog does not have to be participating in advanced tracking, we just want you to get out with your dog!
We meet every Sunday rain or shine and the group is led by instructor Maureen Fielding or another student well versed in tracking.
Joining the club basically means sending Maureen an e-mail and letting her know that you are willing to receive the Tracking Club's weekly info e-mails (names and personal information are not usually published unless explicit consent is given).
At this point there is no initiation fee for students, although it may be a requirement in the future due to the growing interest in the club. Participation in the Tracking Club will help you meet other club members with whom you may contact for future tracking outings outside of the club dates.
Special and on-going events are also planned for the future such as urban tracking, tracking for TD and TDX tiles and competative tracking trials for club members
Sound like fun?
Please contact Maureen Fielding directly for additional tracking club info
